Artist Statement
Kathryn Adele Schumacher received her BA degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, majoring in Fine Art & Art History. After graduation, she embarked on a career in the advertising and broadcast industries. After sixteen years, she decided to further her passion for interior design, starting with the UCLA certification program.
She then spent twenty-four years working in residential interior design. In 2013, Kathryn committed herself to be a full-time artist working primarily in mixed media collage and monotype printmaking. This had been her dream since the age of five when she learned how to finger paint and make houses with popsicle sticks.
In 2014 Kathryn’s mentor, renowned collage artist Bruce Helander, produced her first show in West Palm Beach at the Center for Creative Education with sculptor and granddaughter of Winston Churchill Edwina Sandys.

My Story
My first collage workshop in Jupiter, FL, with the fabulous
Judy Flescher opened my eyes to the world of mixed media. We were encouraged to use all different mediums, and I was absolutely enthralled with the idea of combining every tool I could get my hands on.
